Be part of a proud Australian tradition. Learn to care for your own horse. Groom and saddle- before riding across the gentle hills of the beautiful Tallangatta Valley. Enjoy spectacular views; ride into the heart of the ‘Man from Snowy River’ country. Fully qualified staff will be on hand to assist at all times.
Your experience will begin when you meet our wonderful, gentle horses. You’ll be given the horse which best suits your height and abilities: you might hop onto Hurricane, slip into the saddle on Sassy Lady, or trot around on Taffy!
Through grooming and saddling you’ll establish that special, all-important rapport with your horse. Then you’ll enjoy an introductory session in our spacious dressage arena, where a qualified instructor will teach you all the basics of horsemanship, such as how to handle the reins properly, and how to turn and trot. You'll laugh! You'll scream! But you will fall in love with your wonderful horse.
Next, you’ll be ready to venture into open farmland. We have a number of exciting, scenic routes, which will lead you right around our farm and into the nearby hills. This will be an experience you’ll never forget!
Horseriding at Snowy River Camp builds confidence, morale and camaraderie, promotes high levels of achievement in groups and individuals, and is a LOT of fun!
Safety is always our prime concern.
We are extremely proud of our safety record during all our years of operation.
We provide ALL our clients with official Standards Association of Australia riding helmets.
Our horses are trained to be suitable for beginners aged from 8 years upwards.
Year 3-7 camps are our specialty.
